About me

Tahmina Saleem was born in 1994 in Kabul. She has a bachelor degree in Graphics from Kabul University. She has studied photography and contemporary arts academically and has actively participated in many exhibitions such as “Violence elimination against women” and “Women Empowerment”.

In 2015 she won a special prize in a contest which was held by Paiwandgah in Afghan Impassion Organization which many Afghan photographers participated.

She has been an active member for the” Advocacy for youth network” and “My voice my right” committee in civil and cultural activities.

She completed her master’s degree in Visual Art successfully from Kabul University and currently she is working as a freelance photographer. She also works as a volunteer assistant in fine-arts faculty of Kabul University and she is a member of University Student Network in Afghanistan civil society forum organization.

In the meantime, she is busy covering documentaries of Afghan Successful Women, these documentaries express the lifestyle, achievements, and challenges of women who succeeded in Afghan society.

she learned her photography skill by two international award-winning photographers, Farzana Wahidy and Massoud Hossaini (Pulitzer Winner).

She is also the member of one of the very first founded photo agencies “Afghan Photo Agency”, this agency was registered in 2016 and currently functions in 6 provinces of the country, run by 12 photographers.
